TACOMA, Wash. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team opened its four-match Pacific Northwest trip with a convincing 6-1 dub over the Puget Sound Loggers on Monday afternoon at the indoor Tennis Pavilion.
MATCH NOTES
- The Sea Gulls conceded the doubles point despite a strong showing from Gibelle Beaujon and Cleo Solomon in first doubles; the duo cruised to a 6-3 triumph.
- Salisbury had its way in singles play, winning all six points without dropping a set. Fairing best was Solomon, who downed her opponent in second singles by a 6-1, 6-2 margin.
- Olivia Hall and Evelyn Whiteside posted identical 6-1, 6-3 results in third and fourth singles, respectively, while Ridgley Lake made quick work of fifth singles by a 6-3, 6-2 margin.
- Beaujon muscled her way to a 6-1, 7-5 score in first singles, and Leah Osmon made it six-for-six with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) straight-sets dub in sixth singles.
The Sea Gulls will make their way one state south for a bout against Willamette on Tuesday. First serve from Salem, Ore. Is set for 2 p.m. EDT (11 a.m. PDT).
