Women’s Tennis rolls Willamette, 5-2, for seventh straight win

SALEM, Ore. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team extended its winning streak to seven matches with a no-sweat 5-2 victory over the Willamette Bearcats on Tuesday afternoon at the WU Tennis Courts.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls jumped in front by sweeping doubles play to earn the first point of the match. Ridgley Lake and Elizabeth Coligan put up the best margin by winning third doubles 6-1. Olivia Hall and Evelyn Whiteside secured second doubles 6-3, and Gibelle Beaujon and Cleo Solomon handled first doubles 7-5.
  • Beaujon (6-0, 6-2) and Solomon (6-2, 6-3) each made it perfect days with dubs in first and second singles, respectively.
  • Leah Osmon torpedoed her opponent in fifth singles, rolling by a 6-1, 6-0 margin.
  • Katherine Raab triumphed in sixth singles, 7-5, 6-1.
 
Halfway through their spring break trip, the Sea Gulls will play their third of four matches in the Pacific Northwest on Wednesday at Lewis & Clark. First serve from Portland, Ore., is pegged for 7 p.m. EDT (4 p.m. PDT).
