FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team finished off a perfect week in the Pacific Northwest by again taking its opponent to the limit, outslugging the Pacific University Boxers 4-3 for its seventh straight win on Friday morning at the Holce Tennis Courts.
MATCH NOTES
- The Sea Gulls conceded the doubles point despite a strong effort from Nicholas O'Dea and Bobby Stabile, who cruised through second doubles by a 6-0 margin.
- SU got back into the swing of things at the top of its singles lineup. Gurv Suri (6-4, 6-3) had no trouble handling first singles, while O'Dea (6-4, 6-4) rolled through second singles in similar fashion.
- After the Boxers took third and fourth singles, Aron Bursztyn clamped down on fifth singles, 6-1, 6-3, to draw things even at 3-3.
- With the spotlight on sixth singles, Chase Catullo made it count, rallying from a one-set deficit to win the fixture and the clinching point for Salisbury, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.
The Sea Gulls will be off for a week and a half before returning to action on Wednesday, Apr. 1, at home against Washington College. First serve from the SU Tennis Courts is set for 3 p.m.
