PORTLAND, Ore. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team made it a great eight for its current winning streak by paddling past the Lewis & Clark River Otters, 5-2, on Wednesday evening at the L&C Tennis Dome.
MATCH NOTES
- The Sea Gulls conceded the doubles point by dropping 2-of-3 matches, though Gibelle Beaujon and Cleo Solomon saved face by winning first doubles 6-3.
- SU bounced back in singles play, winning 5-of-6 fixtures. Beaujon (6-1, 6-2) and Solomon (6-2, 6-3) kept the beat rolling in first and second singles, respectively, to set the tone.
- Olivia Hall (6-1, 6-2) had no trouble in third singles, and Katherine Raab (6-2, 6-4) iced it for the Gulls in sixth singles.
- Leah Osmon sweated it out to win fifth singles in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5.
The Sea Gulls will wrap up their Pacific Northwest expedition on Friday by going toe-to-toe with Pacific University. First serve from Forest Grove, Ore., is locked in for 6 p.m. EDT (3 p.m. PDT).
