CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The fifth-ranked Salisbury University baseball team flexed its muscle over its Delmarva Peninsula rival, waltzing past the Washington College Shoremen 15-1 in seven innings on Wednesday afternoon at Athey Park.
The Sea Gulls wasted no time seizing control, plating four runs in the first inning on a rally started by a
Jackson Inman RBI single. Inman then went yard in the second, the first of two SU runs in the frame, to go up 6-0.
The third was a home run derby for Salisbury, who saw
Nathan Tondreault and Inman each belt two-run dingers and
Jay Newton go for a three-run jack to cap a seven-run outburst and make it 13-0. In the fifth, a Shoremen error opened the door for two more to cross for SU, and one solitary WAC unearned run in the seventh made little difference as the Gulls closed out an early 15-1 dub.
