SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team pushed a trio of singles matches to the third set but couldn't get over the hump against Washington College, falling to the Shoremen 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
MATCH NOTES
- Nicholas O'Dea and Bobby Stabile salvaged a 6-1 victory in second doubles to prevent the Shoremen from sweeping all three matches.
- Gurv Suri took care of business in first singles, winning 6-2, 7-6.
- Aron Bursztyn bounced back from a slow start and outlasted his foe in fifth singles, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4.
- O'Dea put up a fight in second singles before ultimately falling short in a third-set tiebreaker, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3).
- Maas Jacobs also pushed third singles to a third set before finishing on the wrong side of a 6-7 (3-7), 7-5, 1-0 (10-7) decision.
The Sea Gulls will get back to business on Friday, Apr. 10, with their penultimate home match of the season against Catholic. First serve is slated for 4 p.m.
