No. 4 Women’s Lacrosse traverses past No. 22 Williams in Monday matinee

SALISBURY, Md. – The fourth-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team fought through NESCAC foe No. 22 Williams College on Monday, defeating the Ephs 12-7 inside Sea Gulls Stadium to elevate their winning streak to ten.

The Sea Gulls (10-0) shot out to a 3-0 lead after the first 15 minutes of play. Audrey Harrington was involved in every tally, scoring a brace and dishing out a feed to Miranda Mears, while Paige Ellis made three saves and the defense pitched a shutout.

The next three goals went to the Ephs (5-2) to level the score before Harrington connected with Regan McDonnell, giving the Gulls a 4-3 edge heading into halftime.

The Maroon and Gold pulled away by outpacing Williams 5-2. Julianna Ott netted a hat-trick within the frame, Leah Doy found twine and Mears added a behind-the-back goal to add to the help make it a four-goal contest.

Harrington, McDonnell and Mears all added to the score sheet to help secure victory for SU.

GAME NOTES
  • Audrey Harrington recorded seven points by burying three goals and dishing out four helpers. Harrington notched seven or more points for the second time in three games and recorded a season-high in assists.
  • Julianna Ott and Miranda Mears registered hat-tricks. Ott led the team with six draw controls.
  • Regan McDonnell chipped in two goals to go along with two caused errors, three ground balls and four draw controls.
  • Abby Fleishell anchored the defense with three caused turnovers, five ground balls and two draw controls.
  • Paige Ellis earned the win in the cage and made five saves. Jaclyn Bange came in relief to start the fourth quarter
  • The Sea Gulls outshot the Ephs 32-20, won in the circle 14-of-21 times and went 16-of-22 on clearing attempts.
The Sea Gulls host ADD Athletes vs. ALS and Youth Day, presented by Seaside Smiles, against No. 7 York (Pa.) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. inside Sea Gull Stadium.
