Fierce fourth quarter surge propels No. 4 Women’s Lacrosse past No. 7 York (Pa.)

The Spartans (6-3) responded with just over four minutes remaining in the first to tie the game. The teams both tallied six shots through the first quarter of action.
The York (Pa.) offense got rolling in the second period, scoring back-to-back goals to begin the quarter. Audrey Harrington posted the two goals for SU in the second as the Spartans added three more goals and led 6-3 at the halftime break. York was outshooting Salisbury 14-12 at the half.

Ott was able to bring the Sea Gulls within one goal with just under seven minutes remaining in the third. The third quarter ended 9-7 in favor of the Spartans, with the Sea Gulls outshooting York (Pa.) 6-4 for the quarter.

The Sea Gulls started the final quarter of action with back-to-back women-up goals to tie the game. McDonnell tallied the first goal off an assist by Avery Dunbar, while Mears was the second goal scorer to tie the game off another feed from Dunbar.

SU grabbed the lead off a goal from Doy, which jolted the Sea Gulls out front, scoring three goals in six minutes to take the lead.
