SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University track & field program has seen student-athlete
Kai Smith earn Coast-to-Coast Indoor Male Athlete of the Year for the 2025-26 season. Smith adds to the totals this indoor season after earning All-American honors in two different events at the Division III Indoor National Championships.
Smith tallied his All-American first-team honors in both the 60-meter and 200-meter events. He placed 3rd in the 60-meter with a time of 6.73 and earned 4th in the 200-meter with a time of 21.19. Smith took down his own school records in both events multiple times this indoor season. At the C2C Indoor Meet, Smith earned Male Track Athlete of the Meet and tallied gold in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.78, earning First-Team All-C2C. He also went on to earn Gold in the 200-meter with a time of 21.68.

Jim Jones was also recently named Mid-Atlantic Men's Region Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), spearheaded by a total of three male All-Americans and nine All-Region nods, with Smith leading the way in both categories.
