Women’s Tennis deposes Methodist, 4-3

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team took it down to the wire to depose the Methodist Monarchs, winning 4-3 on Friday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls dropped the doubles point despite strong play from Gibelle Beaujon and Cleo Solomon, who easily triumphed 6-2 in first doubles.
  • Beaujon and Solomon led a strong SU showing at the top of singles play, with Beaujon rolling to a 6-2, 6-0 sweep in first singles and Solomon singing a similar 6-1, 6-3 tune in second singles.
  • Olivia Hall cruised through third singles, taking a 6-2, 6-1 victory to move Salisbury to the brink.
  • The Monarchs bounced back to take fourth and sixth singles, setting up a winner-take-all showdown in fifth singles. Leah Osmon came through in the clutch for the Sea Gulls, dispatching MU's Addison Haden 6-4, 6-3 to secure the dub.
 
The Sea Gulls will play their final weekend home match on Sunday against Gettysburg. Senior Day festivities will be held at approximately 12:30 p.m. with first serve slated for 1 p.m.
