Women’s Tennis blanks Gettysburg on Senior Day

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team honored its four-member senior class of Elizabeth Coligan, Olivia Hall, Leah Osmon, and Evelyn Whiteside before a perfect 7-0 result against the Gettysburg Bullets on Sunday afternoon at the SU Indoor Tennis Center.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls started the day on a high note with wins in all three doubles fixtures. Gibelle Beaujon and Cleo Solomon rolled through first doubles 6-3, while Olivia Hall and Evelyn Whiteside in second and Leah Osmon and Elizabeth Coligan in third each won by 6-4 margins.
  • Solomon got singles off on the right foot with an easy 6-1, 6-0 triumph in second singles. Hall followed it up with a 6-2, 6-3 sweep in third singles, and moments later Beaujon clinched the early team victory with a 6-2, 6-1 sweep in first singles.
  • Whiteside (6-1, 6-1) and Osmon (6-1, 6-0) tacked on quick victories in fourth and fifth singles, respectively, and Coligan (6-3, 6-3) made it nine-for-nine for SU with a sweep in sixth singles.
 
The Sea Gulls will have a week off before heading to the Pacific Northwest for their four-match spring break trip. SU will open the swing at the University of Puget Sound on Monday, Mar. 16, with first serve from Tacoma, Wash. slated for 12 p.m. EDT (9 a.m. PDT).
