Men’s Tennis earns Senior Day romp of Gettysburg

SALISBURY, Md. – After honoring its two-man senior class of Aron Bursztyn and Tim Holt, the Salisbury University men's tennis team stormed to a 5-1 win over the Gettysburg Bullets on Sunday evening at the SU Indoor Tennis Center.

MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls swept through doubles play to open the match. Nicholas O'Dea and Bobby Stabile (6-1) made quick work of second doubles, as did Maas Jacobs and Tim Holt (6-2) in third doubles. In first doubles, Gurv Suri and Aron Bursztyn found a new gear for a 7-6 (8-6) triumph.
  • Suri cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory in first singles, while O'Dea took straight sets in second singles, 7-5, 6-4.
  • Bursztyn earned the clinch for SU with a 6-2, 6-4 dub in fifth singles.
  • Due to the spatial limitations of the indoor courts and late start time due to the men following the women's team's match earlier in the day, third and fourth singles were modified. Stabile played a single pro-set in fourth singles and won 8-7 (7-4), while the third singles matchup with Jacobs was not played.

The Sea Gulls will now look ahead to their spring break trip to the Pacific Northwest. Their first of three matches on the opposite coast will pit them against the University of Puget Sound on Monday, Mar. 16, with first serve from Tacoma, Wash. slated for 12 p.m. EDT (9 a.m. PDT).
