No. 12 Baseball wins fifth straight; grounds SMC, 28-0

SALISBURY, Md. – The 12th-ranked Salisbury University baseball team cruised to its fifth straight victory and 25th win of the season, breezing by the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks 28-0 in seven innings on Wednesday afternoon at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Baseball Stadium.

The Sea Gulls pounced early as Jackson Inman cracked a three-run homer to spark a four-run first inning. Then in the third the floodgates opened to the tune of 11 SU runs. Jake Witter started the party with a two-run single, and Mickey Haynes provided the final word with a two-run triple and scored on a throwing error, making it 15-0.

Salisbury kept the engine humming with crooked numbers in their final three turns at-bat, including a seven-spot in the sixth. Max Ehrhardt and Cole Swift contributed two-run blasts in the fourth and fifth, respectively, while a Dawson Daniels RBI single wrapped up the scoring surge to deliver the Sea Gulls an early 28-0 triumph.
