PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Salisbury University track & field program competed at the hallowed Penn Relays at The University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field against top Division I and Division III programs, where they posted multiple personal bests and a school record.
Women Meet Notes
- Anna Bodmer opened the Penn Relays on Thursday with the second-best time of her career against Division I opponents in the 5000 meters, posting 17:05.76, which placed her 62nd.
- The 4x400 relay team of Marlyse Haack, Lilly Williams, Peri Nelson, and Jenna Howe posted a season best with a time of 4:00.53, which placed them 9th.
- Haack tallied 27th in the triple jump at 11.36 meters (37-3 ¼).
Men Meet Notes
- Kai Smith tallied the school record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10:35, which placed him 13th, only behind Division I runners.
- Logan Kelsch tallied 11th in the discus at 49.44 meters (162-2).
- Gavin Shaffer finished in 26th place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.55.
- The 4x400 team of Andrew Osler, Hayden Myers, Isaiah Rivera, and Samuel Bradley earned 1st place with a time of 3:14.91, which was just three seconds off the school record.
Despite qualifying for finals tomorrow, the Sea Gulls will now shift their focus to the Coast-to-Coast Outdoor Championships, where they have their eyes set on gold. The C2C Outdoor Championships will be held in Fredericksburg, VA, on May 1st and 2nd.
