VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team hit the 10-win mark for the fifth consecutive season by eclipsing the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins, 5-2, in Sunday afternoon's regular season finale at the Everett Tennis Center.
MATCH NOTES
- The Sea Gulls sweated it out in doubles play by winning two-of-three matchups. Evelyn Whiteside and Ridgley Lake muscled through second doubles 6-4, while in third doubles, Gibelle Beaujon and Leah Osmon took a 6-3 decision to secure the point.
- Beaujon kept it rolling in first singles with an easy 6-1, 6-1 dub, while Cleo Solomon made easy work of second singles, 6-2, 6-2.
- Olivia Hall didn't drop a game in her 6-0, 6-0 third singles win.
- Osmon made it two-for-two on the day in sixth singles, surviving a long first set for a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 sweep.
Sporting a 10-5 record in the regular season, the Sea Gulls will begin Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament play in the semifinals on Saturday on the campus of the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va. Salisbury's opponent and match time will be announced in the coming days.
