FREDERICKSBURG, VA. – The fourth-seeded Salisbury University women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to the 25th-ranked and top-seeded Mary Washington Eagles in the semifinals of the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament on Saturday afternoon at UMW's Hegmann Family Courts.
MATCH NOTES
- The Eagles made quick work of first and third doubles to secure the first point. Olivia Hall and Evelyn Whiteside were putting up a strong fight in second doubles, trailing 5-3 at the moment of clinch.
- Cleo Solomon was tied in second singles 2-6, 6-3, 3-3 before UMW won third, fourth, and sixth singles to clinch the match.
- Leah Osmon pushed the first set of fifth singles to a tiebreaker before falling 7-6; she was tied 1-1 in the second set before her match went unfinished.
The Sea Gulls will cap the 2026 season in the C2C Tournament Third Place Match against third-seeded UC Santa Cruz, who fell 4-0 to Christopher Newport in the other semifinal tilt. First serve from Fredericksburg, weather pending, is set for 10 a.m. on Sunday.
