SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University Department of Athletics and Campus Recreation continued its newest tradition on Monday night, honoring the Sea Gulls' best of the best for the 2025-26 season at the second annual Sammys Athletics Awards Show, hosted by the SU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in an evening ceremony at the Jackson Family Auditorium of Holloway Hall.
Headlining the award winners were the university's 2025-26 Scholar-Athletes of the Year: football's
Micah Brubaker and women's basketball's
Nicole Miller.
Brubaker (Sr. – Mechanicsburg, Pa.) is football's first Scholar-Athlete of the Year since
Alex Potocko won back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018. He currently boasts a 3.979 grade-point average as an Accounting and Finance double major. Away from the gridiron, Brubaker is an active member of the SU Young Adults Ministry, serves regularly at Hope and Life Outreach (HALO) Ministries, and the SU Fight Against Leukemia. After graduation, Brubaker will begin employment in the public accounting field.
Brubaker built on his reputation as one of Sea Gull football's outstanding wide receivers in 2025, recording 21 receptions for 505 yards and five touchdowns on the way to Second-Team All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) recognition. He finishes his SU career with 1,721 all-purpose yards and 17 touchdowns and owns the program's single-game receiving yardage record of 206.
Miller (Jr. – Medford, N.J.) becomes the first women's basketball player to take the university's top Scholar-Athlete honor since
Amy Campion in 2003. She currently sports a spotless 4.00 GPA as a Communications major and Business Administration minor. Off the court she is an active member of the Sea Gull Sports Network (SGSN), regularly providing play-by-play and color commentary and operating broadcast cameras for Salisbury's athletics streaming platform.
Miller captured Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors in 2025-26 and made her second straight All-C2C First Team after leading the league with 17.6 points per game while shooting 52 percent from the floor and surpassing 1,000 points for her career. With Miller starring on offense, Salisbury advanced to its first conference championship game since 2015.
