SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team dropped its final match of the regular season, falling to the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs 4-2 on Wednesday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.
MATCH NOTES
- The Sea Gulls picked up the doubles point with victories in the top two fixtures. Gurv Suri and Aron Bursztyn rolled through first doubles 6-2, while Nicholas O'Dea and Bobby Stabile outlasted their foes in second doubles 7-6.
- The Banana Slugs responded by winning the first four singles decisions for a quick clinch.
- Bursztyn saved face for SU with a 6-4, 7-5 victory in fifth singles.
- Maas Jacobs had his fourth singles match remain unfinished due to a rain shower toward the end of the second set.
The Sea Gulls will now head to Fredericksburg, Va. for the 2026 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament. Third-seeded SU will battle second-seeded Christopher Newport in the semifinals on Friday at 10 a.m. The winner will advance to Saturday's championship match, while the losing team will play in the third place match the same day.
