Men’s Tennis ousted by No. 25 CNU in C2C semis

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The third-seeded Salisbury University men's tennis team bowed out of the 2026 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament, hosted by the University of Mary Washington, via a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the 25th-ranked and second-seeded Christopher Newport Captains on Friday morning at the Battleground Athletic Complex.

MATCH NOTES
  • The Captains seized the doubles point despite a winning effort from the Sea Gulls in second doubles. Nicholas O'Dea and Bobby Stabile tag-teamed for a 6-3 triumph.
  • CNU clinched and advanced via straight-sets wins in second, fourth, and sixth singles.
  • Gurv Suri won the first set of first singles 6-4 and was leading 2-1 before the CNU clinch rendered the match unfinished.

The Sea Gulls will lace them up for the final time in 2026 on Saturday in the C2C Tournament Third-Place Match, weather pending, against fourth-seeded UC Santa Cruz, who lost 4-0 to top-seeded UMW on Friday. First serve from Fredericksburg is slated for 10 a.m.
