FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The third-seeded Salisbury University men's tennis team finished its season with a 4-1 loss to the fourth-seeded UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament Third Place Match on Saturday morning at Mary Washington's Hegmann Family Courts.
MATCH NOTES
- The Slugs took the doubles point by winning the top two fixtures in succession. Third doubles saw Maas Jacobs and Chase Catullo tied 5-5 when the match was rendered unfinished.
- Bobby Stabile sweated out a tough first set to earn a 7-6, 6-1 sweep in third singles over UCSC's Rocco Melendez. He was named as SU's representative on the C2C All-Tournament Team.
- Jacobs was leading fourth singles 6-1, 5-5 at the moment of the Slug clinch. Aron Bursztyn was in a third set in fifth singles when the match halted.
