FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team saw its 2026 season come to a definitive end at the hands of the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs, falling 4-0 in the third-place match of the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament on Sunday morning at Mary Washington's Hegmann Family Courts.
MATCH NOTES
- The Slugs rolled to quick victories in first and second doubles to win the first point. Ridgley Lake and Leah Osmon were leading in third doubles 3-2 at the point of clinch.
- UCSC secured the match with victories in third, fourth, and sixth singles.
- Gibelle Beaujon was closing in on a win in first singles, leading 6-2, 4-1 when the Slugs won their fourth point.
- Cleo Solomon and Osmon had also won a set each in second and fifth singles, respectively.
The Sea Gulls finished 10-7 in the first year of the
Tyler Linscott era. SU has now won double-digit matches in each of the past five seasons and in every non-COVID impacted season since 2006.
