Herraiz hauls in ECAC Offensive Player of the Year, No. 6 Men's Lacrosse lands three on All-ECAC Team

DANBURY, Conn. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team garnered one major postseason honor from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) with three being placed on the All-ECAC squad, announced by the league on Wednesday morning.

Connor Herraiz earned Offensive Player of the Year honors. Blake Malamphy and Riley Strub accompanied Herraiz on the All-ECAC team.

Herraiz, a senior from Succasunna, NJ, was a scoring machine for SU, notching 35 goals with 74 helpers for a total of 109 points. His 3.52 points per game average was good for fourth in the nation, bolstered by eight games of seven-plus point performances.
 
Strub, a senior from Darien, Conn., racked up 77 total points this season via 48 goals and a career-high 29 assists. A two-time USILA DIII Team of the Week honoree, he averaged 4.25 points per game in postseason play, bringing his season average up to 3.67 tallies per contest.

Malamphy, a senior from Annapolis, Md., earned his third career nod to the All-ECAC Team. He put together a monster season to wrap up his maroon and gold tenure, winning 344-of-457 face-offs for a 75.3 percent winning percentage. Malamphy's 245 ground balls are tops across all three NCAA divisions. He also scored a career-high 10 goals to go along with two assists. Malamphy finishes his illustrious career with the sixth-most face-off wins (1,086) in Division III history.
 
ABOUT THE ECAC

The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-five-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast. The ECAC also hosts a comprehensive esports program that presently involves 160 schools fielding 1100 teams across 14 different esports games, streamed live four nights a week.
