Hill earns First Team All-American; Smith top seed in 200 Final after day one of NCAA Outdoor Championships

La Crosse, Wis. – The Salisbury University Track & Field programs saw Mia Hill earn First Team All-American honors in the long jump on day one of the 2026 Outdoor Track & Field NCAA Championships from Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex, hosted by The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Kai Smith also earned a spot in the 200-meter finals after his prelims run this afternoon.

Hill tallied her All-American honors with a jump of 5.81 meters (19-0 ¾), placing her 7th. Hill, the senior from Tabernacle, N.J., earned her NCAA qualification at the Widener Final Qualifier last week, where she set a school record in the long jump at 5.92 meters (19-05.25), earning 1st place and breaking her previous record. Smith tallied a time of 20.81 in the 200-meter prelims, earning his spot in the finals on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. with the No. 1 seed.

This is the second All-American honor of the year for Hill after earning the long jump honors in the indoor season as well. Smith will be back in action tomorrow for the 100-meter prelims at 6:30 p.m. EST. Both finals for the 100 and 200-meters are set for Saturday at 3:40 and 4:30 p.m. EST.
