Brinsfield, Williams garner ABCA All-America laurels

Junior pitching duo become 26th, 27th All-Americans in program history

EASTLAKE, Ohio – The Salisbury University baseball team's right-handed pitching duo of Aidan Brinsfield and Cole Williams garnered top-tier hardware during Thursday evening's Division III College World Series opening ceremony, as the pair was recognized as the Sea Gulls' 26th and 27th American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Americans. Both Brinsfield and Williams garnered slots on the voting body's Second Team for the 2026 season.

Brinsfield [Jr. – Salisbury, Md. (Parkside)] becomes a Consensus All-American following his Third Team nod from D3baseball.com on Thursday morning. Through a nation-leading 16 starts, he has gone 10-3 with a 2.61 ERA, one complete game, 26 walks, and 74 strikeouts over 96.2 frames. Brinsfield, who also earned Consensus Region V Pitcher of the Year and Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Pitcher of the Year, started two combined no-hitters for SU in his first and last starts of the regular season and won the first game of both the NCAA Regional and Super Regional rounds. He boasts the fourth-most victories in the country and ranks top-40 in punchouts, ERA, and WHIP (1.07).

Williams (Jr. – Silver Spring, Md.) makes the coaches' Second Team after being named First-Team All-Region by the ABCA earlier this week. SU's top all-situations reliever, he carries a 6-0 record, 1.53 ERA, one save, 17 walks, and 41 strikeouts over 47 innings into the championship spotlight. Williams, the C2C Scholar-Athlete of the year, sports top-10 national marks in ERA, WHIP (0.94), and hits allowed per nine innings (5.17), and remains the only pitcher to defeat top-ranked Denison this season.

Of the eight teams at the NCAA Baseball Championship site, Salisbury was one of just three with multiple ABCA All-Americans and the only team with at least two players slotted Second Team or higher.

Brinsfield, Williams, and the rest of the third-seeded Sea Gulls will begin their chase for a second national championship in program history on Friday night against sixth-seeded Endicott, with first pitch from Classic Auto Group Park penciled in for 8:30 p.m.
