SALISBURY, Md. - On a night where Salisbury
University volleyball head coach Margie Knight was honored for her
200th career win her team came out and shut out St. Mary's College
(Md.), 3-0, to give Coach Knight win No. 201.
The Sea Gulls (6-3, 1-0 CAC) won the match 30-27, 30-17, 30-14
over the Seahawks (5-4, 0-1 CAC) in the Capital Athletic Conference
opener for both teams. Salisbury increases its winning streak to
four matches.
Salisbury was led offensively by sophomore Stacey Krebs who had
a team high 16 kills followed by junior Lynn Cipollone's 11 kills.
Senior Abbey Petrecca recorded a game high 38 assists, sophomore
Jaime Marzocchi had 22 digs and freshman Savannah Tinsley served up
six aces.
The Sea Gulls had little trouble with the Seahawks in the final
two games after the teams gutted out a tough first game.

from winning the game but let St. Mary's (Md.) back into the first
game. The Seahawks rallied and pulled to within two, 29-27, before
the Sea Gulls closed the door.
Coach Knight won her 200th game at SU this past Saturday,
September 9 at the Battlefield Classic in Gettysburg, Pa., where
Salisbury defeated the University of Scranton, 3-1, to secure the
landmark victory. Knight's record is now 201-127 as the volleyball
coach at SU.
