BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Salisbury University broke
open Saturday's football contest with SUNY Brockport in the second
half as the Sea Gulls outscored the host Golden Eagles 23-0 en
route to a 40-14 victory before a crowd of 2,000 at Special
Olympics Stadium.
This was the Atlantic Central Football Conference opener for
both teams and the first game of the 2007 season for SUNY
Brockport.
SU (2-0, 1-0 ACFC) took advantage of SUNY Brockport's defense in
the second half as junior quarterback Ronnie
Curley scored a touchdown on a 56-yard run and threw for a
touchdown in the third quarter as the game turned in Salisbury's
favor.

33-for-33 over three seasons.
SU rushed for 293 yards as a team and compiled 134 passing yards
for a total of 427 yards of offense compared to Brockport's 301

Chandler and Paul Cynewski. Junior
defensive back Justin Acker had an interception
and returned it for 17 yards in the win.
Salisbury struck first on its first drive as the Gulls went 46
yards in less then three minutes to score a touchdown as Fisher
scored from three yards out. The Golden Eagles answered right
before the end of the first quarter as Matt McCormick (105 yards)
scored on a 23-yard run for the first of his two first half
touchdowns.
In the second quarter, SU regained the lead on a Ronnie Shockley

mark. SUNY Brockport knotted the game at 14 on McCormick's second
score with 7:18 left before the half. Kincaid booted home a 29-yard
field goal to send the Gulls into the half up, 17-14.
