in-state baseball team on Wednesday afternoon as SU won 12-3 over
Eastern Shore rival Washington (Md.) College at Athey Baseball

Maryland.
The Sea Gulls (36-6) were powered by senior right fielder

of Salisbury's 16 hits as they drove in five runs and crossed home
plate four times.
Salisbury's first run came in the second inning off of Collin's
home run. Senior center fielder Jordan Crystal
(two hits, two runs) followed the homer with a single and
eventually scored on an error to give the Sea Gulls a 2-0 lead.
They would not look back from there. The Shoremen (16-18) committed
six errors in the field in their season finale.
Crystal's second run came in the fourth inning as he scored on a
double by junior third baseman Chad Wolfe (two
runs, two RBIs). Wolfe later scored on a hit by sophomore catcher
Andrew Miller (two hits) to give Salisbury a 4-0
lead.
Salisbury's big inning came in the seventh where it scored four
runs. SU received RBIs from freshman left fielder Bill
Morton (one run), Crystal and Wolfe to break the game open
and give Salisbury a comfortable 8-0 lead. The Sea Gulls scored two
runs in the eighth and ninth innings to close out the game. Collins
had a two-run single in the eighth while Celenza added a two-run
single in the ninth.

the distance as the right-hander pitched the complete game. He
allowed three runs, in the final two innings, on seven hits, walked
two and struck out five to earn the win.
Salisbury roughed up Washington starting pitcher Joe Coveney
(2-3) for 10 runs (seven earned) as he walked three and struck out
five in seven and two-thirds innings. Harry Woods relieved Coveney
and pitched one and one-third innings where he gave up two runs on
two hits, walked three and struck out one Sea Gull.
