Sea Gulls fall on Senior Day

Box Score

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's soccer team lost its final Capital Athletic Conference match of the season against Frostburg State University, 3-0, on Saturday. The Gulls (7-10) drop to 5-3 in the CAC.

The Sea Gulls, forcing the Frostburg (14-3, 6-2 CAC) goalkeeper to save seven of their shots, matched the Bobcats evenly as both teams had 11 shots in the game. They had opportunities to score, but were unable to capitalize on a few chances in the first half.

The game was Salisbury's senior day game in its last regular-season home game. The Sea Gulls honored four seniors: defender Noel Bolmer, forward Samantha Kaufman, midfielder Brenna Stuhler and defender Shannon Donnelly. During their Sea Gull careers, the group compiled a 39-21-9 record while making one NCAA Tournament appearance.

Heading into the CAC Tournament, Stevenson University and Frostburg St. have settled into the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, respectively. Salisbury will be the No. 5 seed as St. Mary's (Md.) College tied with Mary Washington on Saturday to grab the No. 3 seed.  York (Pa.) College will take the No. 4 seed as they have the tiebreaker with Salisbury. The Sea Gulls will travel to York (Pa.) for their first round game on Saturday, Oct. 30.

Salisbury will finish out the regular season as it travels to Eastern University for a 3 p.m. game on Tuesday.
