Box Score SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University
women's soccer team lost its final Capital Athletic Conference
match of the season against Frostburg State University, 3-0, on
Saturday. The Gulls (7-10) drop to 5-3 in the CAC.
The Sea Gulls, forcing the Frostburg (14-3, 6-2 CAC) goalkeeper
to save seven of their shots, matched the Bobcats evenly as both
teams had 11 shots in the game. They had opportunities to score,
but were unable to capitalize on a few chances in the first
half.
The game was Salisbury's senior day game in its last
regular-season home game. The Sea Gulls honored four seniors:
defender Noel Bolmer,
forward Samantha Kaufman, midfielder Brenna
Stuhler and defender Shannon
Donnelly. During their Sea Gull careers, the group
compiled a 39-21-9 record while making one NCAA Tournament
appearance.
Heading into the CAC Tournament, Stevenson University and
Frostburg St. have settled into the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds,
respectively. Salisbury will be the No. 5 seed as St. Mary's (Md.)
College tied with Mary Washington on Saturday to grab the
No. 3 seed. York (Pa.) College will take the No. 4 seed as
they have the tiebreaker with Salisbury. The Sea Gulls will travel
to York (Pa.) for their first round game on Saturday, Oct. 30.
Salisbury will finish out the regular season as it travels to
Eastern University for a 3 p.m. game on Tuesday.
