ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The No. 17-ranked Salisbury University men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie after 110 minutes with host North Carolina Wesleyan College on Saturday.

The Sea Gulls (10-1-3) surrendered a first-half goal in the 24th minute, as Bayron Gudeil struck home an Owen White cross to give the Battling Bishops (8-3-1) a 1-0 lead. In the first half of play, N.C. Wesleyan outshot Salisbury 7-5 but the Sea Gulls held a 4-2 corner kicks advantage.

The Salisbury offense began to churn in the second half, as SU held a 3-2 shots advantage in the second stanza. Junior forward Ian Wilson had one of those three shots for SU, and it was an important one as it found the back of the net for the game-tying goal. The College Park, Md., native played the ball across the mouth of the goal and into the left side past the goalkeeper for his third goal of the 2010 season.

The Sea Gulls would tally the only shots in the two 10-minute overtime sessions, as they fired one off in each of the two frames.

Salisbury will turn its attention back to Capital Athletic Conference play this week, as the Gulls are set to travel to Wesley College this Wednesday for a 7 p.m. meeting with the Wolverines.
