WASHINGTON, D.C. - The No. 7 Salisbury
University baseball team took a few innings to get going at
Gallaudet University Friday afternoon, but once it did the runs
kept coming. Neither team scored in the first two innings before
Salisbury blew things open for a 17-0 win.
Junior center fielder Andrew Miller
(Schwenksville,
Pa.) led the way for the Sea Gulls (6-1, 4-0 Capital
Athletic Conference) as he finished with three hits, three runs
scored and drove in one run in three plate appearances. Senior
infielder Trevor Cobb (Hagerstown,
Md.), senior outfielder Tim Kellinger
(Knoxville, Md.), senior catcher Ryan Smith (Waldorf,
Md.) and junior infielder Brian Green (Salisbury,
Md.) each knocked in two runs in the contest. Junior
left-handed pitcher Dustin Herbert
(Huntingtown, Md.) notched his second win of the
season as he went five innings with six strikeouts. Freshman
Jimmy
Lanning (Frederick, Md.) and junior Alex Duda (Madison,
Conn.) each pitched one inning.
The Sea Gulls will take on the Bison Saturday afternoon, hosting
Gallaudet in a CAC doubleheader at the SU Baseball Field beginning
at 1 p.m.
