FROSTBURG, Md. - The Salisbury University
volleyball team hit the road on Saturday to play two matches - one
against Capital Athletic Conference opponent Frostburg State
University, and the other against Penn State-Behrend. The Sea Gulls
fell 3-1 to Frostburg in the first match of the day, but quickly
rebounded with a 3-1 victory against Penn State-Behrend.
Senior Melissa
Stansbury, who recently notched her 1,000th career
dig, added to her career totals as she posted 16 digs and three
service aces in the match against Frostburg. Sophomore Chelsea
Glowacki notched four block assists and one solo
block, and classmate Jenna Shay
registered 10 kills.
Sophomore Carley
Todd was a key piece of the winning puzzle in
Salisbury's victory against Penn State-Behrend, adding an elusive
triple-double to her list of impressive on-court performances. The
Centerport, N.Y., native notched 13 kills, 25 set assists and 20
digs in the match.
The Sea Gulls (10-5, 1-1 CAC) will look to improve upon their
CAC record on Sept. 28 as they hit the road to square off against
the University of Mary Washington at 7 p.m.
