Box Score SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 1 Salisbury University field hockey team picked up its 11th-straight victory as it took down No. 13 Rowan University, 4-0, with a big second half.
The first half was a struggle for possession of the ball as neither team was able to capitalize in the circle, producing a 0-0 tie going into the final 35 minutes of play.
The second half looked as though it may continue to be a battle for control, but in the game's 44th minute Salisbury (11-0) would make the most of a penalty corner opportunity as senior
Tara McGovern ripped a shot from the top of the circle to give the Gulls a 1-0 advantage.
That goal would prove to be all the maroon and gold would need to win the contest but the Sea Gulls were able to find the back of the cage three more times in the match.
The second goal of the evening came at the 51:39 mark as senior
Caitlin Walker sent a bouncing shot from the top of the circle past the Rowan defense and goalkeeper, for her seventh goal of the season. Five minutes later Salisbury would tack another goal on the scoreboard as senior

Karen Cindea earned her first career assist as she fed the ball to Webster for the final goal of the game.
Salisbury held the edge statistically throughout the contest as it produced 17 shots and nine penalty corners, the Profs (8-4) finished with seven shots and five penalty corners.
The Salisbury defense earned its fifth shutout of the season as senior
Anna Cooke made one save, which came in the first half.
Salisbury will play next on Sunday, Oct. 9, as the Gulls head back out on the road to take on No. 6 The College of New Jersey. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
