Box Score 2 YORK, Pa. – The Salisbury University volleyball team defeated Rowan University, 3-1 (25-20, 25-10, 25-27, 25-12), and York (Pa.) College, 3-1 (25-20, 24-26, 25-23, 25-20), to capture the York College Spartan Invitational Saturday at Wolf Gym.
Salisbury (16-1) extended its winning streak to 10 matches, finishing the eight-team tournament with a 4-0 record.
In the first match of the day against Rowan, junior Carley Todd's streak of three straight triple-doubles was snapped but she still finished with 11 kills, 15 assists and seven digs.
Sophomore Sam Seifert led the Gulls with 13 kills and added six digs. Freshman Michelle Meehan also recorded a team-high 12 digs while senior Lindsey Saltzman directed the offense with 20 assists.
Sophomore Sarah Hall paced the SU block with three total, including one solo block.
Todd tripled up again in the championship match against York. She registered 10 kills, 15 assists and 12 digs while posting five total blocks as well.
Seifert again led the Sea Gulls with 15 kills, also adding four digs and two service aces.
Junior Chelsea Glowacki tallied 10 kills and six total blocks, including three solo blocks. Saltzman was strong once again, dishing out 29 assists.
SU returns home on Tuesday to entertain the University of Mary Washington in CAC action at Maggs Physical Activities Center at 7 p.m. Along with being a key CAC matchup, Tuesday night with also feature the team's "Pump for Jenny" fundraiser.
