SU finishes season with scoreless tie against Eastern; ready for CAC tourney

Box Score

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a scoreless tie against Eastern University Tuesday afternoon. This was the final tune up for the Sea Gulls before the Capital Athletic Conference postseason tournament.

The contest was a classic defensive battle, as neither team had many quality scoring chances in the contest. Salisbury (10-5-1) outshot Eastern (9-5-2) 16-11 in the contest, with each team putting seven shots on goal.

Senior Casey Hafford and freshman Victoria Luc led the Sea Gull attack as each player had three shots, with one being on goal.

Sophomore Michelle Conrad stopped all seven Eagle shots that came her way for her seventh complete shutout on the season.

Next up for the Sea Gulls is the CAC tournament. After finishing the season atop the conference standings, Salisbury receives a first-round bye and will await the winner of St. Mary's (Md.) College and University of Mary Washington. That first-round game will be played this Saturday, Oct. 27. The winner of that contest will travel to Salisbury on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
