SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 2 Salisbury University women's lacrosse team extended its winning streak against Marymount (Va.) University to 20-consecutive games with a 21-2 win on Wednesday.

SU set a season high for goals scored and a season-low for goals allowed against the Saints.

Senior Katie Bollhorst led Salisbury (9-0, 2-0 CAC) with five points, netting four goals and handing out an assist. Bollhorst got the Sea Gull offense on track early, netting her first goal of the game just 47 seconds into the contest. The Severna Park, Md., native leads the team with 46 points and 25 assists so far this season.

Salisbury started the game on a 4-0 run, with goals by Bollhorst, freshman Samantha Duranti, senior Maggie Roundy and junior Shelby Nemecek.

Following a Marymount (5-4, 1-2 CAC) goal to stop the run, Salisbury netted the next eight goals of the contest to put the game out of reach. To begin the run, Bollhorst netted three consecutive goals.

Salisbury had a 14-2 lead at the half, controlling nearly every aspect of the game. The Sea Gulls outshot Marymount, 48-7, in the contest and forced 31 Saints turnovers. Salisbury held a 9-8 advantage in draw controls in the first half, but the Saints won 7-of-8 in the second half for a 15-10 advantage in the contest.

Roundy scored three goals for the Sea Gulls and freshman Melissa Webster netted two goals, setting a new career high for the freshman.

Sophomore defender Laura Maskell had a game-high five caused turnovers for the Sea Gulls. Junior Meghan Toomey forced four turnovers to stymie the Marymount attack.

Junior Ashton Wheatley played the first half in goal for the Sea Gulls, making one stop to pick up the win. Sophomore Alyssa Harmke played the majority of the second half, with freshman Chelsea Weinstein seeing action for the first time this season between the pipes.

The win is the 67th consecutive regular-season Capital Athletic Conference win for the Sea Gulls, putting them one win away from tying the all-time Division III record, currently held by the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

The Sea Gulls are next in action this Friday, April 5, hosting Messiah College. That game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., at Sea Gull Stadium.
