Women’s Lacrosse named IWLCA Academic Honor Squad; 14 land on DIII Honor Roll

SU's 14 Honor Roll selections rank fifth in Division III

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Salisbury University women's lacrosse team was recognized as a 2025 Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and landed 14 Sea Gulls on the Division III Honor Roll, announced by the association on Wednesday.

The Sea Gulls were one of 376 teams across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III and the NAIA to earn the acknowledgment of academic excellence. To be considered, programs must sport a team GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The team added five honor roll selections to its nine student-athlete selections in 2024, with its 14 honorees in 2025 ranking fifth among all Division III institutions. Graduate students Mackenzie Demaio and Delaney Piechowiak, seniors Caroline Daly, Paige Ellis, Natalie Held, Carly Hoffman and Alexandra Parker and juniors Ryleigh Cunnane, Reagan Davis, Grace Doy, Audrey Harrington, Rachel Johnson, Miranda Mears and Lauren Wunder joined the 1,284 student-athletes from 202 different institutions that earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher as juniors, seniors or graduate students during the 2025 campaign.

The Sea Gulls embarked on yet another deep postseason run in 2025, posting a 16-5 overall record while securing a fifth consecutive and 23rd overall conference championship and a 22nd consecutive NCAA Tournament bid. The team advanced to the regional final for the eighth time in the last 10 years, knocking off then-unbeaten St. John Fisher in the regional semifinal before bowing out against Tufts, the eventual Division III runners-up.
Salisbury University is a proud member of NCAA Division III with primary membership in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference, along with affiliate membership in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (football, men's & women's swimming), Coastal Lacrosse Conference (men's lacrosse), State University of New York Athletic Conference (field hockey), and Colonial Women's Golf Conference (women's golf). With over 500 student-athletes in 23 varsity sports, SU is recognized as one of the nation's most competitive intercollegiate athletics programs regardless of division, featuring dedicated coaches and staff that foster excellence on and off the field. The Sea Gulls have won a combined 23 team national championships, 24 individual national championships, and 205 conference championships, and have produced 53 Academic All-Americans.
