Box Score

YORK, Pa. – Five different Sea Gulls scored as the No. 1 Salisbury University field hockey team defeated York College of Pennsylvania, 6-0, on Saturday in Capital Athletic Conference action.

It only took 1:13 for Salisbury (12-1, 3-0 CAC) to find the back of the cage in the first half. Karen Cindea notched her seventh goal of the season after she carried the ball into the circle, baited the Spartans' (10-5, 1-2 CAC) goalkeeper out of the crease and fired the ball into the cage.

The Sea Gulls would fire seven more shots before scoring again at 10:56. Jessica Crew ripped a pass from the right edge to Courtney Jantzen, and Jantzen finished on the back post, giving SU an early 2-0 lead.

After a battle in front of the cage, Salisbury capitalized once again just 18 seconds before halftime when Crew took a pass from Cindea and scored to give SU a 3-0 lead at the half.

The Sea Gulls continued their dominance in the second half, scoring another goal 13 minutes into the period. Summer Washburn carried the ball into the left side and fed a pass to Abbey Shobe who finished in the middle, extending the lead to 4-0.

Just over two minutes later, Breck Sullivan capitalized on a penalty stroke opportunity, sending the ball past the Spartan goalie.

At 58:18, Salisbury would score its final goal of the contest when Jantzen found the back of the cage for the second time of the day, taking a reverse pass from Cindea and scoring from the left post.
