HIGHLIGHTS

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Sea Gulls started the first half strong with their first goal in the eighth minute after Ally Goetz passed the ball ahead to Julianna Boller who curled the bouncing ball around the CNU keeper.
  • With only five minutes left in the first half, Mallory Pasco passed the ball up to Anna Dimitriades in front of the box. Dimitriades's left-footed shot got past the diving keeper to give Salisbury the 2-0 lead heading into the halftime break.
  • The second half saw plenty of action as the Sea Gulls scored their third and fourth goals in the first two minutes of the half. After a foul at the top of the box, Brooke Rossiter cashed in on a penalty kick and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
  • A minute later, Boller crossed the ball over to Lydia Narum running far post and blasted the shot into the back of the net.
  • CNU's Riley Cook took advantage of a defensive miscommunication by the Sea Gulls in the 83rd minute and collected CNU's first goal.
  • The Sea Gulls responded only seconds later with another goal after Alyssa Chesney found Tierney Crehan on a through ball and Crehan converted the breakaway chance to put Salisbury up 5-1 in the waning moments of the game
  • CNU got a goal in the 89th minute but it proved to be too little, too late as Salisbury clinched their fifth consecutive win.
