YORK, Pa. -For the third consecutive game, the 15th-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team shut out its opponent. The Sea Gulls blanked the York Spartans, 2-0, on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Salisbury put the pressure on York early in the game. Salisbury got on the board in the 25th minute on a penalty corner. Allie Davis sent a shot towards the goal and Maci Long tipped the ball past the keeper for the opening goal of the contest.
• Early in the second half, Salisbury doubled its advantage when McKenzie Jamison knocked in a loose ball in the circle after a shot from Long at the top of the arc was saved by Kaitlyn Wallace.
• York returned the early pressure from Salisbury with a flurry in the final five minutes of the game. Dom Farrace and the Salisbury defense stepped up to the challenge to keep the shutout intact.

SALISBURY GAME NOTES

• Maci Long's goal in the second quarter was her first career goal for the Sea Gulls.
• McKenzie Jamison netted her fifth goal of the season.
• Dom Farrace stopped six shots in goal to earn her sixth win of the season. All six saves came in the second half.
• Salisbury recorded nine penalty corners in the win.

YORK GAME NOTES

• York outshot Salisbury, 11-8.
• Sam Collis and Hannah Hoffman each had three shots in the game.
• Kaitlyn Wallace made four saves.
