FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Salisbury University men's soccer team opened Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) play with a 0-0 draw against the Mary Washington Eagles on Saturday afternoon at the UMW Grass Field Stadium.

 HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a Mary Washington foul in the 13th minute, Salisbury earned a free kick just outside the box. Ethan Dolezal took the free kick and drove the ball towards the top right corner, but Eagle goaltender Ken Kurtz made a diving save to keep the Sea Gulls off the board.
• In the 58th minute, after a Salisbury turnover, the Eagles' Gabe Francesconi sent a shot just outside the box towards the bottom left corner, but Gabe Dunn made a diving save to keep the match tied.
• In the 79th minute, Salisbury looked for a chance to break the scoreless tie. Luke Ahalt passed the ball from the left corner into the center of the box, where Sean Barwick aimed a one-timer towards the bottom left corner, but Kurtz made another diving stop to keep the match tied.
• In the 101st minute, the Eagles looked to win the game in overtime. A cross came into the box and Gabe Dunn appeared to have it in his hands, but fell out right in front of Carter Berg. Berg sent a strike that should have won the game for the Eagles, but a quick recovery by Dunn helped him make the save and keep the match alive.

• The Sea Gulls tallied six shots with three on goal.
• Sean Barwick led the way with two shots and one on goal.
• Alex Floyd and Cullen Myers each added a shot on goal.
• Gabe Dunn collected four saves as part of his clean sheet.
• The Sea Gulls had four corner kicks.

• The Eagles notched nine shots with four on net.
• Ken Kurtz had three saves in net for the Eagles.
• The Eagles had nine corner kicks.
