SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University men's soccer team fell to the ninth-ranked Messiah Falcons, 4-0, on Saturday.

 HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Salisbury offense put the pressure on early in the first minute, with a pass from Kiran Chikmath to Cullen Myers, who sent a strike that looked to head for the top right corner, but was blocked by a Messiah defender.
• Late in the first half, Salisbury offense went on the attack again. A cross was sent into the box and Tre Moore got a foot to the cross. Moore's touch rolled right to the goalkeeper to keep the score tied.
• In the 75th minute, a hard tackle in the box granted Messiah a penalty kick. Reid Ruark sent the penalty just past a diving Gabe Dunn into the bottom right corner for the opening goal of the contest.
• It did not take long for the Falcon offense to strike again. Cole Cristian received a pass across the box to Dylan Englehart, who settled the ball and sent a strike into the back of the net.
• Little less than a minute later, Luke Groothoff sent another ball into the back of the net to extend the lead to three.
• In the 85th minute, the Falcons added one more goal on the board. Trevor Swartz sent a pass into the box where Matt McDonald would slide to get the shot past a diving Dunn for the final goal of the game.

 SALISBURY GAME NOTES

• The Sea Gulls tallied two shots.
• Brady Young and Cullen Myers each tallied a shot
• Gabe Dunn collected five saves in goal.

 MESSIAH GAME NOTES

• The Falcons notched 19 shots with nine being on net.
• The Falcons had seven corner kicks and held the Sea Gulls to zero corners on the day.
• Reid Ruark, Dylan Englehart, Luke Groothoff and Matt McDonald scored the goals for Messiah.
