GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Salisbury University volleyball team began its stay at the Rowan Quad by making quick work of the Nazareth Golden Flyers, cruising to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-12) sweep on Friday night at Esbjornson Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Down 8-7 early in the first set, the Sea Gulls stormed ahead with a 12-0 run capped by a setter dump from Ella Skye Franks. Jackie Mitchell and Angelina Casserly combined for five kills over the dozen-point swing.
- Salisbury soon after went on a 4-0 run to increase its lead to 23-9. The Golden Flyers rebounded for seven of the next eight, but a Blair Pausic kill finished off the opening frame for SU, 25-16.
- The Sea Gulls set the tone early in the second set, putting together a trio of 3-0 runs to build a 17-6 advantage. After Nazareth chipped off one point, Amanda Chew led SU on a 7-0 push, tallying three kills to move it to set point at 24-7.
- Nazareth responded with the next three, but Pausic found Gwen Eustace up front for the kill to salt it away, 25-10.
- Salisbury went on another long run early in the third set, netting eight in a row to boost a 4-3 lead to 12-3.
- The teams exchanged mini-rallies through the rest of the fixture until the 22-12 mark, at which point SU wrapped things up with an Alyssa DeWaal kill, Chew-Eustace block and Chew kill, putting the sweep in the books, 25-12.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES
- Amanda Chew led all attackers with 11 kills, swinging at a .333 clip for the match. Chew became the 10th player in Sea Gull history to surpass 1,100 career kills, finishing the night at 1,104. She also tallied four digs, three service aces and two block assists.
- Jackie Mitchell racked up seven kills, while Angelina Casserly landed five strikes (.400).
- Delaney Madsen posted three kills to go along with four block assists, three digs and two aces.
- Ella Skye Franks led SU with 14 assists, plus a pair of aces. Blair Pausic posted a double-double with 13 assists and 11 digs, plus three kills.
- Grace Rail chased down a team-high 14 digs with two assists.
- Salisbury challenged its season high with a .373 hitting percentage, powering 37 kills against nine errors on 75 swings. SU hit an impressive .550 during the second set, landing 12 kills against one error.
NAZARETH GAME NOTES
- Zoe Tylipakis led the Golden Flyers with six kills (.308), plus five digs. Kaylee Kelly added five kills and four digs.
- Tessa Grover served up 13 assists with four digs, three block assists and two kills.
- Jenna Mattison corralled a team-high eight digs.
- Nazareth was held to a negative hitting percentage for the match, racking up 17 kills against 27 errors for a -.108 clip.
UP NEXT
- The Sea Gulls will continue play at the Rowan Quad with their final two regular season matches on Saturday afternoon.
- SU battles Hunter at 2 p.m., followed by the finale against hosts Rowan at 4 p.m.
