Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer falls in defensive battle at Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Salisbury University men's soccer team dropped a tightly-contested road match at Stockton, falling to the Ospreys 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon at G. Larry James Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Sea Gulls offense looked for a chance to get on the board after some back-and-forth play from both teams. In the 25th minute, Brady Young dribbled the ball from midfield and found room a couple yards outside the box to take a long, open shot, but the ball sailed just over the crossbar, leaving the game scoreless.
  • In the 57th minute, after a failed clear attempt by the Osprey defense, Owen Peters sent a ball towards the box. David Peters gathered the ball and took a shot towards the net, but it was right at the Stockton goalkeeper Liam Brett.
  • In the 83rd minute the Ospreys broke the scoreless tie with a header into the bottom left corner by Aiden Hoenisch from Brendan Deal.
  • The Sea Gulls looked to quickly respond from the Ospreys' goal later in the 83rd minute. After a free kick by Joseph Ennas, the bouncing ball found the foot of Ryan Kegley. Kegley sent a blistering shot towards the bottom right corner, but Brett made an impressive save to keep the lead.
