INDIANAPOLIS – The top-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team earned a bid for its 28th consecutive and 37th overall NCAA Division III National Tournament appearance when the NCAA announced the field late Sunday night. Salisbury will host the second and third rounds at Sea Gull Stadium, starting on Saturday, Nov. 12.
Salisbury finished the season as the lone unbeaten team in Division III at 17-0 overall and captured its fourth consecutive and 24th conference championship in program history with a 2-0 victory over the 17th-ranked CNU Captains on Saturday.
Salisbury, who was the top overall seed in the tournament, received a first-round bye into the tournament and will play the winner of Wednesday's first-round matchup between York and DeSales. The winners of Williams vs. Johnson & Wales (R.I.) and Washington & Lee vs. Ohio Wesleyan will also take part in the four-team Salisbury regional.
Game times and ticket information will be announced at a later time.
The winners of the four sites will advance to the semifinals and final, Friday and Sunday, November 18 and 20, at Richard Wackar Stadium at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. Semifinals will be played at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Eastern time, Friday, Nov. 18, with the championship game being played at 1 p.m. Eastern time, Sunday, Nov. 20.
