Box Score SALISBURY, Md. - The third-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team erased an early four-goal deficit to take down the 13th-ranked York Spartans, 15-14, in a thrilling Saturday contest at Sea Gull Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Salisbury and York traded goals to open the game. After Teresa Matthias scored a goal in the opening minute of the contest, Delaney Hill responded with a strike a minute later to nod the game at one.
- York then went on a four-goal run in the middle part of the first quarter to take a 5-1 lead.
- Goals by Lily Cavallaro and Erin Scannell helped Salisbury chip away at the York lead at the end of the first.
- Salisbury continued the momentum in the second quarter. Scannell ripped in the opening goal of the second before Emma Skoglund tied the game at five with a wraparound shot.
- The two teams went back-and-forth with two-goal runs. York took a two-goal lead before Lauren Valenti and Cavallaro tied the game at eight in the final two minutes of the first half.
- York took the 9-8 lead right before the halftime when Kiersten Blanchard scored on a bounce shot.
- Blanchard added a goal to open the second half and extend the York lead to 10-8.
- Salisbury benefitted from an own goal in the 33rd minute of the game when Camryn Pepper's centering pass from behind the net was knocked in by York's Bella Garabo.
- Logan Ward pushed York's lead back to two, 11-9, before Salisbury took the 12-11 lead at the end of the third behind goals by Cavallaro, Hill and Skoglund in the waning moments of the quarter.
- York tied the game at 12 midway through the fourth quarter on a Matthias goal.
- Salisbury stormed ahead on a three-goal run to take a 15-12 lead.
- Lydia McNulty scored on a man-up goal off an assist by Skoglund on a give-and-go in front of the net.
- Less than two minutes later, McNulty passed up a free-position shot and found an open Cavallaro to double the lead, 14-12.
- Hill gave Salisbury its largest lead of the game and capped off the three-goal run on an upper-90 isolation rip to extend the SU lead, 15-12, in the final three minutes of regulation.
- York scored back-to-back goals a minute apart in the last two minutes of the game to trim the SU lead to 15-14.
- Salisbury turned the ball over in the final 30 seconds of the game but York's attempt at a game-tying goal went wide as time expired.
