Box Score SALISBURY, Md. – The second-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team clinched the top seed in the upcoming Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Championship Tournament with a 21-7 victory over conference rival, Christopher Newport, on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Salisbury scored the most goals in a quarter in program history with a 10-goal flurry in the first quarter.
- The Sea Gulls controlled possession throughout the entire first and did not allow the Captains to take a shot.
- During the first-quarter run, Emma Skoglund put away four goals while Lydia McNulty scored three goals.
- CNU chipped away at the lead with four goals in the second quarter before Salisbury pushed the lead back up to eight with back-to-back goals by Leah Vilov and McNulty.
- A Zoe Dyer goal with eight seconds left in the first half cut the lead to 12-5 but the Sea Gull stormed ahead in the third with a 7-0 run for the running clock and extended the lead to 19-5 after the third.
- Kiersten Hartman put away the opening goal of the fourth quarter. The first of her career.
- Maggie Sanders closed out the scoring for Salisbury with a goal in the 55th minute of the game.

- Emma Skoglund set a career-high with eight points. She matched her career-high goal total from May 13, 2018, with five tallies.
- Lydia McNulty notched four goals and an assist.
- Erin Scannell caused a career-high five turnovers with three goals and an assist.
- Leah Vilov tallied three goals.
- Lauren Valenti corralled a game-best seven draw controls.
- Mary Claire Hisle locked tip the win with three saves in three-quarters of work.
CNU GAME NOTES
- Zoe Dyer tallied two goals to pace the CNU offense.
- Kendall Krause scooped up three ground balls.

- As the top seed, Salisbury will host the winner of the CNU/Mary Washington semifinal matchup on Saturday, May 7.
