SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's basketball team found its groove on Saturday evening, shooting over 54 percent from the floor and 60 percent from beyond the arc to down the Neumann University Knights, 82-78, at Maggs Physical Activities Center.

  • Neumann scored six of the next eight points to establish a three-point advantage, 22-19. After trading threes, Salisbury uncorked an 8-2 stretch that established a 30-27 lead for the maroon and gold with just over four minutes left before intermission.
  • Neither side flinched down the stretch as the Knights narrowly outscored the Sea Gulls 10-9 over the final 4:13, giving the maroon and gold a 39-37 lead heading into the locker room.
  • The Knights used an 8-4 run out of halftime to take a 45-43 lead with two and a half minutes played. Five different Sea Gulls scored in the stretch, including buckets from Brendan Davis, Reed Rebstock, and Cameron Heard.
  • Neumann shot a crisp 5-of-6 from the field over the next four minutes, helping the visitors outscore SU 13-5 in that time and tie the contest at 62 with 10 minutes to go.
  • Each side battled over the next five and a half minutes, with Kaiden Mines leading a 12-8 Salisbury charge.
