SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The third-seeded Salisbury University men's basketball team used an explosive first half to roll past the sixth-seeded Pratt Cannoneers, 76-43, in the first round of the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, hosted by UC Santa Cruz.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Salisbury opened the game up on a 12-0 run that was capped off with an old-fashioned three-point play by Greg Bloodsworth at the 17:06 mark of the first half.
- Aidan Camper knocked down a tough jumper with just under 11 minutes to play to cap off another run by the Sea Gulls to go up 25-8.
- Pratt battled back to within nine, 29-20, after a layup by Noah Rasmussen with 6:44 left in the first half.
- Salisbury answered back with 11 straight points, including a deep triple from Kaiden Mines, to extend its lead to 40-20.
- Daniel Golub added two free throws for Pratt in the closing minute of the half to send the teams into halftime with a score of 40-22.
- Bloodsworth drilled a three-point jump shot to open the second half for the Sea Gulls. The three sparked a 13-5 run for Salisbury to extend its lead to 53-27 with under 12 minutes left to play.
- A Buddah Spencer triple with 8:17 left in regulation gave the Sea Gulls their largest lead of the day, 61-28.
- Both teams went back-and-forth knocking down shots for the rest of the game. Crevon Adams made a layup in the final minute for Salisbury to give the game its final score of 76-43.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES
- Salisbury shot 43.8 percent (28-for-64) from the floor, including 36 percent (9-for-25) from three-point range.
- Greg Bloodsworth and Kaiden Mines each scored 14 points. Bloodsworth added two rebounds and two steals while Mines grabbed three boards.
- Sean Carr scored nine points and hauled in five rebounds.
- Jordan Oates grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. He also chipped in seven points.
- 11 different Sea Gulls made a field goal in the contest.
- Salisbury assisted on 18 out of 28 field goals.
PRATT GAME NOTES
- Pratt shot 26.9 percent (14-for-52) from the floor, including 6.3 percent (1-for-16) from beyond the arc.
- Cameron Hatcher led the Cannoneers with 15 points and six rebounds.
- Patrick O'Gorman scored 12 points.
- Daniel Golub scored six points and grabbed six rebounds.

- With the victory, the Sea Gulls advance to tomorrow's C2C Semifinals against second-seeded Mary Washington.
- Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EST/1:30 p.m. PST at the Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, Calif.
