SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University athletic department announced that
Braden Glushakow and
Natalie Paoli were named the 2022-23 SU Scholar-Athletes of the Year.
Glushakow, an Eastern Shore native from Hebron and James M. Bennett High School, holds a 3.89 GPA as a marketing major. A USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American before the 2023 season and a team captain on the SU men's lacrosse team, Glushakow has appeared in 54 games in the defensive midfield for the Sea Gulls. He has totaled 69 ground balls, 36 caused turnovers and nine points with seven goals in his career.
Off the field, Glushakow is a multiple-time Dean's List student in the Clarke Honors College. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi and Chi Alpha Sigma honor societies.
Paoli, from Wilmington, Del. and Caravel Academy, carries a 3.91 GPA as a public relations and strategic communications major with a minor in marketing management. Paoli was the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Scholar-Athlete of the Year for softball in 2022 and earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Third-Team All-American honors last season. The two-time All-C2C honoree was announced earlier this season as a selection to the
NFCA Player of the Year Watch List. Paoli is a career .349 hitter with 132 hits, 94 RBIs, 80 runs scored, 27 doubles, 14 homers and six triples in her four-year career with the Maroon and Gold.
A multiple-time Dean's List student, Paoli is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma, Lambda Pi Eta and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
Braden and Natalie will be recognized at the 2023 Honors Convocation in May.
