THE RUNDOWN

The Salisbury University men's tennis team begins its chase to a conference crown at the 2023 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Championships in Newport News, Va. The opening round begins on Friday, April 28 with the fourth-seeded Sea Gulls against the fifth-seeded Pratt Cannoneers at 2 p.m. at the James River Country Club in Newport News.

Salisbury finished the 2023 regular season with a 9-8 overall record.
Sophomores Gianluca Beaujon and Jhayden Pappas earned spots on the All-C2C team. Beaujon was selected to the All-C2C First Team for singles. Beaujon and Pappas earned a spot on the All-C2C Second Team for doubles.
Pappas picked up C2C Athlete of the Week honors on Feb. 27.
Pratt enters the C2C Tournament with a 6-5 record.
Junior Mehul Bhargava represented Pratt on the All-C2C Second Team. Bhargava led the Canonners' lineup competing at No. 1 singles and doubles all season, assembling matching 6-4 singles and double records.
Ryan Nelson is Pratt's No. 2 singles player with an 8-3 record.
Friday's winner will take on the top-seeded UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs in C2C Semifinals on Saturday, April 29 at 3 p.m. The championship match is scheduled for Sunday, April 30 at 2 p.m.
